Cyber Security Awareness Poster Contest Rules

University Technology and Information Services (UITS) is holding a security awareness poster competition during the Cyber Security Awareness Events in October. The goal of the project is to educate the campus community on current security threats, best practices and change the way people approach information and data security.

The security posters must be original designs and focus on prevention on any of the following topics:

  • Malware
  • Social Engineering
  • Phishing

Entries will be reviewed by a committee on October 18th and five posters will be selected as the finalists for voting.

The Committee is staffed by CSU Staff and Faculty (Not including the following departments: Computer science, Art, and Information Security)

An email will be sent for you to vote on October 23th through 5:00 pm October 27th. The winner will be announced on the Information Security Website - infosec.columbusstate.edu.  The Winner will be announced October 30th. The winning poster will be displayed on campus in various locations throughout the year and the Information Security Website. The artist of the winning poster will receive a printed copy of their poster and will receive an HP 250 G6 Laptop

Contestants

Must currently be enrolled in and actively attending CSU.
Must submit entry to the UITS Help desk or through the electronic entry form.
Must submit an entry form with their poster or include one with the electronic submission.

Poster Rules

  • One entry per student. Can not be a group project.
  • Design must be 11" wide by 17" tall and HIGH RESOLUTION.

  • Subject matter must be about security awareness.
  • Must be original artwork by the student. (Entry must not infringe upon any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights.)
  • Must be in a file format such as a .gif, .jpeg. or .png and high resolution and sent via the electronic entry form or it must be on poster board and submitted to the Help Desk* with an entry form.
  • Content should be appropriate for the campus community.
  • Place a CSU Logo on the poster - Columbus State University logos
  • All winning posters become the property of Columbus State University and will not be returned.
  • Minimum of ten poster entries required for giveaway.
  • DEADLINE is 5:00 pm Friday, October 15, 2018

Art Rules

  • Use of any image must be original and/or owned by the student. If you use stock photography and your design is accepted for publication, we will obtain necessary permissions at that time. Your inability to prove originality/ownership of material will result in disqualification of entry. A CSU logo must be placed on the poster.
  • Entry must not infringe upon any copyright, trademark or other proprietary rights.
